Common questions

If your question isn’t here, call 01905 412838 and speak to an engineer.

How often does my system need inspecting?

Safety lines, anchors and fixed ladders should be inspected by a competent person at least every 12 months, and sooner if they're heavily used, in a harsh environment, or after any fall or damage. The manufacturer's instructions may set a shorter interval.

Can you inspect a system someone else installed?

Yes. We inspect and recertify systems from all the main manufacturers, whoever fitted them.

What happens if my system fails?

We tag it as out of use so nobody relies on it and explain in the report what failed and why. Conditional passes are listed with what needs attention and by when.

How do you test anchors and fixings?

We use calibrated digital pull testers and torque gauges. Each reading is sent straight to our reporting app with the date, time and location, so your report shows exactly what was tested and the result, with no hand-written figures.

What do I get after an inspection?

A written report with photos and a pass, conditional pass or fail for each item, a tag on the system showing the next due date, and an entry on your asset register.

Do you cover my area?

We work across the UK from our base in Worcestershire. For clients with several sites we plan visits by region to keep costs down.

Should I choose guardrail or a safety line?

Guardrail protects everyone on the roof without harnesses or training, so it's usually preferred where it can be fitted. A safety line suits roofs where guardrail isn't practical, such as ridges or around solar arrays. We'll recommend the right option after a survey.
